the 52 project // week 9

penny: from our very last morning in the apartment. half of your life thus far was spent in this space. when we moved here from charlotte it was for convenience sake that we chose this spot, but it became a home to us and many a memory filled these walls. you take after your mama in that you get attached easily to places. i tend to fall in love with the feelings a place holds, and so we both had ourselves a good little cry after leaving here. new memories shall be made, but we needed our moment to pay respects to the ones made here.

the 52 project // week 8

penny: at your request, we're currently reading the wizard of oz for the second time. on this particular morning, halfway through getting ready for our day, you climbed to the top seat of the kitty scratcher and declared yourself the great and powerful oz. you then proceeded to tell me all the things i would need to do (which was a total of pushing 3 buttons) before you would help me get back to kansas. you then changed your mind and said i lived in new york and you were going to come with me because your cousins are there and you'd like to surprise them.

the 52 project // week 7

penny: with us moving in just over two weeks now, and it being obnoxiously cold (for the south), we've resorted to some cozy afternoons where you snuggle in my bed with a snack and some charlie brown cartoons while i get a bit of packing done. in this particular charlie brown there were, in your words, some "mean boys who aren't playing nice!". i sat with you during that part because it made you pretty upset. luckily in the end it all worked out ok and your love for these old cartoons continues on...

the 52 project // week 6

penny: since moving to atlanta, this little sliver of back porch has been our saving grace while living in this apartment. on warmer days i can simply open up our back door, plop some buckets of water, and some sidewalk chalk out there, and it will keep you happily entertained while i make us dinner, have some coffee, or just sit down for a few minutes. on this particular day you lovingly tended to all of our long dead plants that once looked so beautiful out there. we're closely coming to the end of our time in this place we've called home for the last two years. if this 6 square feet could keep you entertained for hours i can only dream of the adventures you'll create in an entire back yard! soon my little buggy... very very soon!
