penny: some days when it rains, like really REALLY rains, we blow up lots of big balloons, run around in them like maniacs, and then crash with a good show and a pretzel on the couch. and ya know what? these days are just as good as any of our adventure days.

exploring atlanta // acworth beach at cauble park

we woke yesterday morning with an urge to explore. the thought that summer might pass us by, and we had yet to spend a single day at a beach, has been weighing on my mind. a quick google search of "lakes near atlanta" would turn up this gem of a location. it's about 40 minutes outside of atlanta, and the perfect spot to spend a morning swimming and relaxing in the sand. there's also an incredible playground, and we even had the beach completely to ourselves for a short while. my itch has been scratched... for now.

penny: our friends mom sent you this purple tutu dress recently, and though it took you a couple days to convince you to try it on (backwards) once you did... well, i think the pictures speak for themselves.

penny: we broke out the tripod this week and i was teaching you how to take pictures all by yourself. you loved pushing the button and then running in front of the camera to strike a pose before the 10 second timer went off. you then asked for a picture of you and i together. you have no idea how that made my mama heart happy. i'll take a picture with you any time, my sweet buggie.
