in one month this little girl will be turning 3 years old. for some reason this number is hitting me with a surprising amount of nostalgia. i wasn't the mom who sobbed at the first birthday milestone, and we celebrated two without even a hint of sadness. i honestly never understood when moms said they were so sad about their baby growing up. my thought was always, "well, what is the alternative?". but don't worry, now i get it! for whatever reason 3 seems to be the number that's making me feel all the feels! i'm not one bit sad that she's growing, i just simply can't believe the person she's becoming, and the little nugget she once was. it really all does just go so so fast! surprisingly, i haven't been taking quite as many photos of our day to day nonsense as i once was. wedding season, with a dash of family photo season, lead me to just putting the camera down at home. it didn't feel right though. my love for this craft developed out of a love for capturing our everyday mundane. the magic is in these moments and i want these moments documented here as well...

we pet some goats, we met some chickens, me took some pictures. it was a fun one...
the 52 project // weeks 47 & 48
"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014."
week 47
penny: you got to sit in an actual fire engine at a birthday party, and were surprisingly nonchalant about the whole thing.
week 48
penny: the exact moment you spotted the fire engines in the thanksgiving day parade. this was more of the reaction i expected at that birthday party last week.

the 52 project // another round of catch up!
"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014."
week 44
penny: you were a ballerina mouse for halloween and it was love at first sight between you and that tutu. you ask to wear your costume nearly everyday, and nearly everyday we say to you "go for it!". after all, there are only so many years you can get away with wearing a full leotard/tutu combo every waking moment.
week 45
penny: a little old macdonald video in bed never did hurt anyone!
week 46
penny: a rainy day spent taking you for a walk down mama's memory lane. we watched charlotte's web (my favorite childhood movie), and played multiple rounds of candyland. it was a good good day for sure!
