penny: on your last week of 4K preschool I chaperoned your class trip to the splash pad. seeing you running around with these friends, most whom you've now been in class with for 2 years, made my insides so very happy. you're like a little family at this point. i can't believe we only have one more year together. cue mama sobs now...

penny: a rainy morning spent at home. you, playing with sticker books. me, sipping coffee. one of those perfectly typical, yet completely fulfilling, mundane moments.

penny: we drove up to charlotte for the weekend to spend some time with your cousins (whom you haven't seen since christmas!), and to grab the last bit of our stuff that has been in storage for about 2.5 years now. it was a whirlwind of a trip, and made me realize we really should be making this drive way more often then we currently do. summer goals!

penny: we took an after dinner walk and came to a field of wildflowers at the end of our block. so just as the last bit of sunlight was setting behind the trees, i carried you over some questionable tangled weeds and we helped ourselves to a lovely bouquet.
