sunday has quickly become my favorite day of the week. it's always held a special little place in my heart, but our recent routine has definitely secured its number one position there!
after a slow morning, we make our way to brunch with some friends. penny and her little lady pals run around while the mamas & papas enjoy yummy vegan goodness. i never remember to bust out my camera there, but here's a glimpse of the cuteness! then evan, penny, and i, drive out to my parents house where penny gets spoiled in a way that only a gaga & pop pop can get away with. my dad and i sip wine, my mom always makes us a dinner that puts mine to shame, and we leave with full bellies and happy hearts. sundays, they're pretty darn good!

penny: it's no secret that you love the snow, and i couldn't help but love it a little more too when seeing it through your eyes.
linking up with jodi.
and now for the outtakes...
the ice storm...
on wednesday we were hit with the most gorgeous, albeit inconvenient, of ice storms. i took a few minutes to myself to walk around the quiet city and just listen to it fall. it was beautiful, and it sounded a little something like this.
stir crazy days...
between the freezing temperatures, the snow storm, and some tough teething days sprinkled in there, we've been stuck indoors and feeling fairly stir crazy. as luck would have it though, the universe gave us one glorious day of temps in the 60's... and we ran with it! we spent the afternoon exploring a little park by our home. we collected rocks, examined fallen branches, and stomped in the last bits of snow on the ground. now if only this weather would grace us with its presence again!
penny's room tour // a montessori toddler room
when we moved into our new place getting penny's room all set up was our first priority. i thought i'd take you on a little tour of how it's looking so far. we decided to keep it pretty similar to her room in our old house so that she would have a feeling of familiarity here. we've updated some things to make it a space that is inviting to her, and while still keeping in mind the montessori philosophies that we think are important. it's still a work in progress, but this is where we're at now...
some things about her space...
if you missed her first room tour you can see it HERE. she was so little!!!
