exploring atlanta, old fourth ward playground & splash pad

it's really no secret that after just a few short months i fell pretty hard for this new city of ours. there are a good number of reasons to love atlanta, but the one thing that got me is just how many amazing parks and playgrounds there are here. every neighborhood has at least one, and we're finding that they're all pretty stinking fantastic. we heard a number of times just how great the old fourth ward splash pad was, but somehow it still managed to exceed all my expectations. we went armed with snacks, sunscreen, and a change of clothes, and ended up spending quite a few hours playing here. i can already see this spot becoming heavy in rotation this summer! atlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierce

penny: as i attempt to write this you're currently in your room boycotting your nap. it sounds like there's a wild animal in there but you're not calling for me yet so i'll take this few minutes of free time and run with it. you're definitely letting your almost 2 and a half year old qualities be known lately. it's hard to predict exactly how our days will go. will it be a care free day where laughs are plentiful, or will you be you testing me every step of the way. you keep me on my toes, absolutely exhausted, but on my toes for sure.

walks...

on mornings when we don't have anything planned, penny and i like to take a little mosey around our neighborhood and see where it takes us. she has yet to realize that i always have it lead us to someplace involving coffee. on this particular day she scored herself some kitty snuggles & some sweet handmade flowers too. atlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierceatlanta family photographer, jenn pierce

penny: this week, while running along the sidewalk, you stepped on a rusty nail. it went through your sneaker and right up into your foot. you were very sad, and so was i. much of our week was spent taking it kinda easy as you didn't really want to walk on it very much, and your legs would easily tire from walking on your tippy toes all the time. thankfully, your dad hit it out of the park when he came home with these mickey mouse bandaids. you were obsessed with cleaning your "boo boo" and reapplying bandages, and because of that diligence your foot is now 100% better... though you'll still tell anyone you meet that you stepped on a nail and it made you cry.

my flower girl...

Penn has been having a bit of an off week. she's extra tired, cranky, and just not quite herself. she also happens to be eating everything in sight so i'm thinking growth spurt, but we'll know for sure if her clothes no longer fit her in a week. anywho... we decided that a little lunch in park was in order on this particular day. a picnic complete with a new flavor of soy yogurt (lemon, yum!), some extra cold raspberries, and my first attempt at a flower crown. it was good... and kinda just what we both needed! jenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographer
