penny: it was a bit of a tough week for our home. your doggies got in a fight with each other, so quite a bit of our time was spent inside figuring out how to handle this new dynamic. it's a work in progress but things are getting better, and thankfully you don't seem to mind pajama days with mama at all. this move has thrown us some serious curve balls, things we never could have planned for. i'm more grateful then ever for ridiculously cute moments like this that are sprinkled throughout our day. tea parties and dinosaurs. dancing and block building. all in all, things could definitely be worse.

we are diamond eyes...

i've yet to really talk here about exactly why we made the move from charlotte down to atlanta, but the secret's out, so now i can share...

diamond eyes

it all started with a text. "move to atlanta and be my second shooter." i wont ever forget when matt miller sent me that message. how my heart skipped a little beat, and excitement ran straight down to my toes. my first response, "yes". my second "if you're joking i will kill you". as you can probably guess by the fact that we now live in atlanta, he wasn't joking. yesterday, jan 22nd, marks the official launch of diamond eyes. this is something matt has been working on for quite some time, and i'm beyond honored to be a part of it. matt is a friend, a mentor, an insane photographer, and one heck of a great person to call my boss. take a few minutes and check out the new site, and if you're getting married, or your band is playing a show, go ahead and hire him. don't even think twice. and heck, if it's your wedding day you'll get me as your second shooter. really it's a win win kinda thing!

fun facts...

*matt also shot our wedding back in '09. check it out!

*matt & danielle have a little girl, stella, who is penny's buddy, and ridiculously cute. follow his IG for more cute than you can handle!

*and one last thing, i'll still be taking on family, maternity, and newborn sessions solo. my calendar will just be a bit busier come wedding season!

sweet dreams...

tonight as we were tucking her into bed she said to me, out of the blue, "best friend in whooooole world" as she gave me a slobbery kiss and hugged my face. i could have died... jenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographer

sure she may drive me crazy some nights with how she can procrastinate going to bed, but man, tonight it was all worth it!

penny: we finally got around to exploring this new city of ours a bit this week. the children's museum, a crazy indoor kiddo play palace, and this here little park, were amongst the places you got to blow off some steam. this park didn't have any sort of playground equipment, but you certainly had a blast regardless. your imagination is exploding lately. you pretended to shake apples out of a tree, said that a leaf on the ground was the door to your grandparents house (then proceeded to 'open' it and jump in), and when you found a hole in the ground you were convinced that a rabbit was hiding inside. i am blown away every single day by the way you pretend recently. i'm doing my best to nurture this small gift like a wild orchid. lots of love and tending to. also in this weeks developments is your love for this tutu. your aunt donna gave it to you for your very first christmas, and lately it accompanies us everywhere. no complaints here! it makes for some pretty darn adorable target runs and post office trips. your two year old brain... i love it!

penny: we've been having a rough week, you and i. you've been sick, the weather has been absolutely freezing, and it all seems to be making you rather irritable. at least i'm hoping it's just the sickness mixed with cabin fever and not those rumored terrible twos everyone likes to speak of. either way, it's no fun. i feel awful when i don't know how to make you feel better, and even worse when my temper runs a little short. i'm working on it though. there is no one in this world who makes me so desperately want to be the very best version of myself. i have no doubt that this phase will pass. you'll feel better, spring will eventually come, and this too shall pass...
