penny: this week, while running along the sidewalk, you stepped on a rusty nail. it went through your sneaker and right up into your foot. you were very sad, and so was i. much of our week was spent taking it kinda easy as you didn't really want to walk on it very much, and your legs would easily tire from walking on your tippy toes all the time. thankfully, your dad hit it out of the park when he came home with these mickey mouse bandaids. you were obsessed with cleaning your "boo boo" and reapplying bandages, and because of that diligence your foot is now 100% better... though you'll still tell anyone you meet that you stepped on a nail and it made you cry.

my flower girl...

Penn has been having a bit of an off week. she's extra tired, cranky, and just not quite herself. she also happens to be eating everything in sight so i'm thinking growth spurt, but we'll know for sure if her clothes no longer fit her in a week. anywho... we decided that a little lunch in park was in order on this particular day. a picnic complete with a new flavor of soy yogurt (lemon, yum!), some extra cold raspberries, and my first attempt at a flower crown. it was good... and kinda just what we both needed! jenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographerjenn pierce, atlanta ga family photographer

penny: today you woke me up with a hand painted mother's day card, and another that sang me a little cheer when i opened it. you then proceeded to play that cheering card about 20 more times in a row. it was perfect. looking at this photo it occurs to me that never in my life could i have imagined having so much happiness wrapped up in seeing squishy toddler legs in a purple tutu. messy blonde curls, dirty fingernails, skinned knees, and slobbery kisses, are also a few other things that make my days worth living. thank you for making me a mother penny, and for putting everything else in just the right perspective. i love you.

happy mother's day to all the mamas out there... especially mine!

jenny + eric // gainesville, fl wedding

we are diamond eyes a few weeks ago i had the pleasure of traveling down to gainesville, fl with matt to shoot the wedding of jenny & eric. this absolutely perfect day all took place right at their home. it was so gorgeous, and personal, and i couldn't help but fall in love with every bit of it... oh, and i had the best vegan ice cream sundae of my life while in gainesville. that didn't hurt a darn thing either!

hop on over to Diamond Eyes to see the rest of this incredible day!
