a morning at the creek...

yesterday penny and i went on a little hunt for this creek that a friend had told us about. after a bit of wandering in the heat we finally found it! the water was cool, and our feet were happy. what is it about a body of water that is so mesmerizing? penny is happiest playing in it (especially with the added surprise of tadpoles), and i am happiest photographing it. it was a win win for us both.

"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015."

penny: i think we've already gone swimming more times this summer then we have in all the previous summers combined. you always smell like a mix of sunscreen and chlorine, and your tan line is rather impressive for a 3 year old. as i write this you're grabbing a quick nap on our bed so that when you wake up we can go do more swimming with your best bud down by the pool. i've always loved summer, but this one is proving to be especially epic.

week 27

penny: super hero capes and pockets of treasures. i love these days.

week 28

penny: "helping" daddy work on his motorcycle, and you nearly shoved the screwdriver in the engine.

week 25

penny: ice cream night with your best bud. we accidentally ordered you a scoop the side of your head and paid for it with a night of you being awake and wired until 10:30pm. it was worth it!

week 26

penny: we've been spending a lot of summer days swimming at your gaga & pop pop's house. on this particular rainy afternoon we had to switch up our routine and break out a little travel bowling set. you used the pins like drumsticks and made up your own nonsensical rules. 3 dollars well spent!

we're already at the halfway point of this project, and now i know from past experience that the next 26 weeks are simply going to fly by. the days are long, but the years are short. why does that dang cliché saying have to be so true?!?!
