this is the second chance i've had to photograph the payne family (first time). their family has grown but somehow they've remained just as awesomely laid back with two kiddos as they were with one. it was pretty comforting to see!

penny: each year we try to do a weekend camping trip with our whole (mostly vegan) atlanta crew. this year, even though it was about 95 degrees every day, and not much cooler at night, i think it was the most fun one yet. you're one lucky kiddo to be surrounded by all these friends like family.

these images were a gift from Rashidi to his wife for her birthday. you've got to love a man who understands the importance of some good family portraits! and i loved being able to grill them about having two little ones nearly 5 years apart as this subject is hitting pretty close to home these days. their verdict... it's awesome! thank you Barnett family for letting me document this time for you, and for easing my mind about our future a wee bit. win win all around!
