the 52 project // week 4

penny: this 52 project is almost turning into the 52 weeks of penny + stella. you guys are getting to be more and more like sisters every day. the love you have for each other is fierce. and just to keep it truly like sisters, the bickering and competition between the two of you is right on par with that of siblings... i'd imagine. 

on this particular day we popped on into one of our favorite coffee/snack spots for said coffee + snacks, and thought we'd just have an hour or so hang with stella and her mama. well with a constant round of new friends appearing, and the possible chance of snow outside, that simple one hour turned into 5 hours! thank goodness for sweet local shops that are super kid friendly and welcoming to us squatters. i'm looking at you hodgepodge... we love you!

we followed up this day by having stella sleepover our house, and even with the 20 or so straight hours together you still asked to facetime with stella 5 minutes after she left our home. again i'll say it... the love is fierce!

also... thanks to matt for that last shot of me with the girls. yeehaw for having friends who will pick up your camera and get you in the frame too!

penny: this photo is a happy accident. after playing around with double exposures on my camera i forgot to change the settings back to single exposure. i went to take a photo of you and your gaga taking instax selfies, and boom... two photos in one. it's silly, and  sweet, and i love it.

the 52 project // week 1

i thought and thought about just what it was about the 52 project that was feeling a little uninspiring to me those last few months and i think i figured it out. it was almost like that moment in muppets take manhattan when kermit realizes what's been missing from his show. it needs MORE frogs and bears and chickens and things! this project was starting to feel a bit lack luster to me because i want it to represent MORE! there are so many more people in penny's life, and so many more moments in our day to day, that all have a huge impact on this person she's becoming. so i'm breaking the rule of keeping it to just one photo. each week i'll pick a collection of what i feel best represents our week and share it here. it may be 10 images of penny, it may be 1 of her and 9 of our cat. who knows! so hey 2016... let's see what ya got for us!

 

penny: this week it was all about you turning four. how on earth are you already 4 YEARS OLD!!! we celebrated the day with a little friends lunch at your favorite sushi spot, and kept the good times rolling (see what i did there) with some bowling and doughnuts. it was an absolutely perfect day. as the youngest of your closest friends, you're so excited to be four now. every so often we still catch you quietly whispering to yourself "i'm four years old now!". i happy cry every time.

penny: here we are, the final week of yet another 52 project. this seems like an appropriate one to sum you up these days. super silly, often preforming, and keeping your dad and i laughing more often then not. in a few short days you'll be four years old, and here in this ridiculous image i can so easily spot the four year old, and have to look pretty hard to spot the little babe you once were. i love you, you tiny maniac. thank you for making this year another amazing one for our family! 

 

and now with three incredible years of portraits of this nugget, i feel like it may be time to switch it up a bit in 2016. i'm not sure exactly what that switch will be, but i've got some ideas floating around this head of mine. let's see just where it takes us...
