10 on 10

a bit of a different take on the ol' 10 on 10 this month. a little collaboration between me and two tiny toddlers. i took two of the ten, and the rest were taken by penny & stella while they tried to figure out my camera. they are ridiculously cute together, and i don't ever want to forget them squeezing on my lap together to take turns pushing the button... 10 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 1010 on 10

penny: you and i met up with your little friend charlee, and mommy's friend amy, and had ourselves a lovely morning at the aquarium. you. loved. it! over and over you would ask for "more fwish, more fwish!" after hours and hours of walking around you passed out cold in the car 10 seconds after being buckled in. it was a really good day, and you're still talking about it now.

penny: this week it was all about the potty. out of nowhere you decided it was time to go head first into this whole potty training business. we've had the potty since you were 18 months old, and you originally showed some interest in it then, but after the first few days you weren't into it, so we didn't push it. honestly, i wasn't ready back then either. now however, we all seem to be embracing this new 'big girl' habit you're forming. though there have certainly been some accidents, when we're home you take yourself over to the potty and do your business most of the time without even needing to be reminded. you love to empty your potty into the toilet, and you especially love the single chocolate chip you receive after you're done. and when it came time to pick out some real undies, we were both sad to see that so many of them are covered in dora, minnie mouse, or disney princesses, none of these things interest either of us. so for you my sweet girl, superhero underoos it is! you're still quite a ways away from being fully trained, but just like every other stage of your life so far, i think this is my absolute favorite. i mean really... it couldn't possibly get any cuter!

sundays

sunday has quickly become my favorite day of the week. it's always held a special little place in my heart, but our recent routine has definitely secured its number one position there! after a slow morning, we make our way to brunch with some friends. penny and her little lady pals run around while the mamas & papas enjoy yummy vegan goodness. i never remember to bust out my camera there, but here's a glimpse of the cuteness! then evan, penny, and i, drive out to my parents house where penny gets spoiled in a way that only a gaga & pop pop can get away with. my dad and i sip wine, my mom always makes us a dinner that puts mine to shame, and we leave with full bellies and happy hearts. sundays, they're pretty darn good!

penny: i was away from you for the longest period of time ever this week. four whole days. it was only supposed to be three, which we've done before, but when matt and i got snowed in while shooting a wedding in ny, our three days turned to four, and that additional 24 hours was enough to make me miss you like never before. i think maybe you felt the same because since then you've decided you don't need sleep any more, and would simply like to spend all of your time together... awake. you've been waking up at 6am, not falling asleep until 9:30pm on some nights, and today you threw a curveball at me and also decided you didn't need to take a nap. so my dearest penny, i love you like crazy, but let's get some sleep now shall we?!?!
